Clara Jørgensen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Disability, Inclusion and Special Needs at the University of Birmingham. A social anthropologist by background, her research focuses on educational inequalities, inclusive teaching strategies, and children's schooling experiences across the UK, Spain, and Latin America. She emphasizes participatory methods, involving service users, carers, and young people in co-creating knowledge.
Previously, she held roles as Lecturer of Childhood, Youth and Education at Coventry University and Senior Teaching Fellow/Research Fellow at the University of Warwick. Her work bridges qualitative and ethnographic methods with policy analysis, addressing migration, race, and participatory education.
Research interests include migration’s impact on education, racial equity in schooling, and fostering inclusive pedagogies. Her expertise in user involvement has informed training programs and policy development in diverse educational contexts.
