Claire Sabitt is a Post Graduate Research Associate at Princeton University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. (expected 2025) and focuses on early modern art history, particularly the role of decorative scissors in princely collections, metalworking, and gender studies. Her research also explores cross-cultural artistic exchange between Europe and the Ottoman Empire, early modern print culture, and Renaissance/Baroque collecting practices.
Education: B.A. in Art History (with honors) from the University of Iowa, M.A. in History of Art from the University of Oregon.
Internships include the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her work aims to reframe scissors as significant works of art within early modern material culture.
