معرفی
Dr. Claire R. Shen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). She holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from UCLA, where her doctoral research focused on metabolic engineering and renewable chemical production under Dr. James Liao. Post-doctoral work at UCLA’s Institute for Genomics and Proteomics involved collaborations with Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group and Gevo Inc., addressing bio-based chemical production from renewable feedstocks and CO2. Her research emphasizes biobased chemicals, synthetic pathway design, and directed evolution for enhanced production systems. She joined NTHU in 2013 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018.
- Education:
- B.S., Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, UCLA, 2006 (Magna Cum Laude)
- Ph.D., Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, UCLA, 2011
Her work bridges academia and industry, with a focus on sustainable chemical production. Recent research includes optimizing enzyme systems for indigo/indirubin synthesis. No grants or awards explicitly listed, but her collaborations highlight active industry engagement.
