Claire Planner

Claire Planner, PhD, is a Researcher affiliated with the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care (L5). Her roles include NIHR School for Primary Care Research Launching Fellow and collaborative research in areas such as severe mental illness care and healthcare safety. She holds a PhD, MSc in Social Research Methods from the London School of Economics, and a BA (Hons) in Applied Psychology from the University of Sussex.

Her research focuses on mental health, primary care, and patient safety, employing methodologies like systematic reviews, qualitative research, and participatory methods. Key interests include collaborative care models, medication-related harm prevention, and improving healthcare delivery through evidence-based interventions.

Notable collaborations include working with Professors Linda Gask, Pete Bower, and Siobhan Reilly. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being. Awards include the Graduate Merit Award Scholarship from LSE and her NIHR fellowship.
