Claire Pelgrims is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Free University of Brussels (ULB), affiliated with the STRIGES research group. She also held a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions individual fellowship at Université Gustave Eiffel (France) under the Horizon 2020 program. Her research explores the intersections of mobility infrastructure with gender, aestheticism, and functionality, focusing on sustainable urban development and cycling practices.
- PhD from ULB (2020) on imaginaries of fast/slow mobilities in Brussels' infrastructure since the mid-20th century
- Current postdoctoral work expands understanding of mobility infrastructure through gendered, aesthetic, and functional lenses
- Active in two Master’s programs: Social Approaches to Energy Issues (University of Paris) and Transition Urbanism (ULB)
Her scientific awards include the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship (2022-2023) and the FNRS PDR project "Gender and Bicycling Aesthetics" (2021-2024), conducted in collaboration with sasha (ULB) and Cesir (USL-B).
