Claire May is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton's School of Applied Sciences, with a professional doctorate in progress at the University of Keele. She previously held a Senior Lecturer position at the University of Sussex (2020–2022).
Dr. May's research focuses on drugs in sport, sexual health, and substance misuse, with notable projects including a £13,000 Pharmacy Research UK-funded systematic review on oral contraceptive adherence and a £15,000 Health Education England study on independent prescribing skills among pharmacists. Her work has influenced local sexual health service reforms in Brighton and Hove.
Her professional activities span international collaborations, including studies in Zambia addressing antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacy education.
