Claire Hardy is a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Health and Wellbeing at Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine, within the Division of Health Research’s Centre for Organisational Health and Wellbeing. She holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Nottingham (2011), following a MSc in Occupational Psychology from the same institution and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of York. Dr. Hardy specializes in work psychology, particularly focusing on employee wellbeing, psychological resilience, international assignments, and women’s health at work, with a strong emphasis on menopause and premenstrual experiences.
Research Interests: Dr. Hardy’s research combines mixed-methods approaches to address real-world workplace challenges. Key areas include developing evidence-based interventions for workplace wellbeing, creating new psychological measures, and improving support for women’s reproductive health in occupational settings. Her work emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and practical solutions to organizational challenges.
Awards: In 2018, she received the Excellence in Occupational Psychology Research Award from the British Psychological Society for her groundbreaking work on menopause in the workplace.
Projects & Grants: Current initiatives include the MenoWork project (2024–2027) focused on women’s health and menopause, and the 'Effective delivery of occupational safety and health services' research (2024–2026). Prior projects include evaluations of menopause interventions and oncology workforce wellbeing during the pandemic.
