Claire Foster

Professor Claire Foster holds dual roles as Professor of Psychosocial Oncology and Deputy Head of School Research and Enterprise in Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. She leads the Centre for Psychosocial Research in Cancer (CentRIC+) and oversees research enterprise activities.

Her research focuses on psychosocial impacts of cancer treatment, decision-making in genetic testing, and digital interventions to enhance patient self-management. Key areas include:

• Cancer survivorship and quality of life
• Lynch syndrome risk perception
• Primary care integration of supportive care

Awards include the Staff Achievement Award (2013) and Worldwide Universities Network Internationalisation Award (2011). She supervises several PhD/Masters students and holds external roles with Bowel Cancer UK and the British Psychosocial Oncology Society.

Her work is funded by Cancer Research UK, Movember, and Macmillan Cancer Support, among others.
