Claire Drewery is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at Sheffield Hallam University, where she has served as Course Leader for the BA English Literature program since 2015. She teaches modules on modernist literature, adaptation studies, and short fiction.
Research explores:
- Modernist women writers including Katherine Mansfield and May Sinclair
- Liminality in short fiction
- Literary periodical culture
- Stream of consciousness narrative techniques
Publications analyze modernist literary reception and magazine publishing contexts, with recent work examining the relationship between text and image in modernist collaborations. Current projects include editing Dorothy Richardson's short fiction for Oxford University Press.
Supervises a PhD student researching author Ethel Lina White. Co-founded the May Sinclair Society and serves as peer reviewer for Katherine Mansfield studies journal Tinakori.
