Claire Diggle is a Lecturer in Interior Design at the University of Huddersfield, affiliated with the School of Arts and Humanities and the Centre for Urban Design, Architecture and Sustainability. She teaches modules for first and second-year students on the Interior Design BA(Hons) course. Her research focuses on food narratives in design and aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly urban regeneration and cultural sustainability. She holds a BA(Hons) in Interior Design (2012) and an MRes from the School of Art & Design at Huddersfield (2014), and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and applying for Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Research interests include culture-led regeneration, sustainable urban development, and pedagogical approaches in design education. Her work explores how design can reimagine urban spaces through community engagement and cultural narratives. Recent projects involve case studies in Huddersfield, examining educational values in design briefs and the adaptation of non-online courses to online communities during disruptions.
