Cindy Lisica is a Professor of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of the Arts London, M.A. from California State University, Long Beach, and B.A. in Integrative Arts from Penn State. Her professional experience includes roles as gallery owner/director and museum specialist, including directing the Cindy Lisica Gallery and managing collections at The Menil Collection.
Her research focuses on 20th-century and contemporary art, particularly Andy Warhol’s Time Capsules, Pop Art, and cross-cultural art dialogues. She has curated over 50 exhibitions, including major projects at institutions like the Mori Art Museum (Tokyo) and The Andy Warhol Museum (Pittsburgh). Her publications span exhibition catalog essays, journal articles, and contributions to edited volumes on Warhol and contemporary art practices.
Lisica is actively engaged with professional organizations such as the College Art Association and Fotofest International. Her recent work emphasizes curatorial practices, material culture studies, and the intersection of art with cultural identity. She has delivered lectures on topics ranging from Warhol’s global influence to contemporary Chinese art at venues like The Andy Warhol Museum and Tate Britain.
