Hervé Vanel is an Associate Professor of Art History and Fine Arts at The American University of Paris, specializing in mid-20th century art. He holds a Doctorat from Université de Paris I - Panthéon Sorbonne. Vanel's research covers diverse artists including Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Roy Lichtenstein, and John Cage.
His publications explore themes ranging from Warhol's gender representations to cybernetic aesthetics and perceptual art. Vanel served as co-curator for the 'Warhol Unlimited' exhibition at Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, authoring the accompanying catalog. His courses include curatorials studies and art history through Paris museums.
