معرفی
Professor Cindy (Shin-Yi) Lin is the inaugural Kam Ling Barbara Lo Chair in Neurodegenerative Disorders at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Central Clinical School under the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Brain and Mind Centre. Her career bridges biomedical engineering, neurophysiology, and clinical research.
- PhD in Neurosciences (UNSW)
- MEngSci (Biomedical Engineering, UNSW)
- BE (Engineering Science, University of Auckland)
Professor Lin specializes in clinical neurophysiological techniques, particularly threshold tracking, and their application as biomarkers in neurological disease diagnosis and therapy trials. Her research spans diabetic, autoimmune, and genetic neuropathies, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, and neurodegenerative disorders across age groups.
Her recent publications focus on hereditary amyloidosis, spinal muscular atrophy, and fibromyalgia, emphasizing axonal excitability as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Key collaborations include institutions in the UK, Japan, China, and Taiwan.
- NHMRC CJ Martin Travelling Fellowship
- Interlaken Leadership Award (CSL Behring)
She supervises postgraduate students and trains international neurologists in nerve excitability techniques. Her translational research integrates engineering, neuroscience, and clinical practice, with industry partnerships like Dexcome for continuous glucose monitoring in diabetic neuropathy.
