Helena Brøckner is a PhD Fellow at the Department of Health Science and Technology, Faculty of Medicine, Aalborg University, Denmark. Her research focuses on translational pain neuroscience and precision health within the Translational Pain Neuroscience and Precision Health group, specializing in nerve excitability and peripheral neuropathy mechanisms.
Education:
- PhD in Medicine (ongoing since August 2023)
- M.Sc. in Medicine with Industrial Specialisation (2018-2020)
Her research centers on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy and nerve excitability testing, with emphasis on cutaneous nerve fiber assessment and early detection methodologies. She investigates electrotherapy applications and precision health approaches to improve neuropathy management in oncology, particularly for breast cancer patients undergoing taxane treatment. Her work integrates clinical diagnostics with neurophysiological mechanisms to develop reliable assessment tools.
Recent publications demonstrate methodological rigor in nerve fiber testing and clinical translation for chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. Her research bridges neuroscience, oncology, and pain management, focusing on test-retest reliability in sensory threshold estimation and practical implementation of early detection protocols in cancer care.
Based at Selma Lagerløfs Vej 249, Gistrup, she contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals in health and well-being through her work on precision diagnostics and patient-centered pain management solutions.
