Cin-Ty Lee

Cin-Ty Lee is a Professor and Department Chair at the Department of Earth, Environmental & Planetary Science at Rice University. Their research spans geochemistry, planetary crust formation, and environmental monitoring.

• Formation and evolution of planetary crusts
• Dynamics of critical mineral resource formation
• Acoustic monitoring of migratory birds and ecosystem health
• Geochemical cycles and climate evolution
• Crystal growth kinetics and magma differentiation

Facilities under their supervision include ICP-MS, Laser Ablation ICP-MS, micro-XRF element mapper, and FT-IR microscope.

Scientific awards include funding from NSF and the Packard Foundation.
