- PhD in Plant Sciences, University of Oxford
- MA in Environmental Studies, Brown University
- BA in Biological Sciences, University of Oxford
Her research focuses on tropical African flora, particularly West Africa, and the UK flora. She employs fieldwork, plant identification, phylogenetic analysis, and biogeographic modeling to study biodiversity hotspots, emphasizing conservation priorities through patterns of rare and useful plant species. Her work aids in reconciling biodiversity conservation with economic development in tropical regions.
Key research themes include:
- Phylogenetic dating of angiosperm lineages (2020)
- Bioquality hotspot mapping in Africa (2016, 2019)
- Logging impact studies in Ghana (2012)
- Conservation of Liberian rainforest flora (2012)
She has contributed to Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for mining and infrastructure projects in West Africa, and developed rapid survey methodologies for tropical conservation. Her work spans collaborations with institutions like Botanic Gardens Conservation International and Université Libre de Bruxelles.
