معرفی
Chuo Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He joined the faculty in 2004 as a Southwestern Medical Foundation Scholar and transitioned to his current rank in 2010. His research focuses on synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, and drug development, with particular emphasis on C-H activation, Wnt signaling modulation, and immuno-oncology.
Education: B.S. from National Taiwan University (1995); Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University (2001), under Prof. Matthew D. Shair. Postdoctoral training at Harvard under Prof. Stuart L. Schreiber.
Research Interests: Synthetic methodologies for drug discovery, development of small molecule inhibitors targeting Wnt signaling and cancer pathways, and exploration of cyclic nucleotide signaling in innate immunity. His lab has pioneered approaches in metal-free C-H fluorination and asymmetric total synthesis of marine natural products.
Notable Research Themes: Cyclic GMP-AMP as an innate immune ligand, Porcupine inhibitors for cancer therapy, and stereocontrolled synthesis of complex alkaloids.
Grants/Advising: Collaborations with researchers at Harvard and UT Southwestern, though specific grants or advisees are not explicitly listed in available data.
Labs/Teams: Directs the Chuo Chen Research Laboratory, focused on cross-disciplinary projects at the interface of organic chemistry and biomedical research.
