Dr. Chunxu Li is a Lecturer at the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, University of Plymouth, appointed since January 2020. He holds a PhD from Swansea University (2019) and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and IEEE member. His research focuses on robotics, machine learning, and control systems, with notable work on robot teaching systems and teleoperation. He has published 34 papers (32 SCI/EI indexed), including award-winning contributions to IEEE conferences.
Teaching responsibilities include Module Leadership for AINT308 (Computer Vision) and AINT515Z (Artificial Vision & Deep Learning), and co-teaching AINT516Z on Advanced Intelligent Robotics. He has supervised PhD student Shuo Zhu as primary supervisor.
Collaborations include the University of Manchester, Swansea University, and others. Notable projects include EU-funded initiatives and ASTUTE manufacturing projects as a robotic expert. Awards include the Best Student Paper Award and Best Paper Award shortlist at IEEE conferences. His h-index is 12, with 301 total citations since 2016.
