Chrystyna Dail

Chrystyna Dail serves as Professor of Theatre History and Director of the Integrative Core Curriculum at Ithaca College within the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance's Department of Theatre Studies. Her academic appointment reflects her significant contributions to theatre scholarship and education.

Dr. Dail earned her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University and completed her M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. Her educational foundation supports her specialized expertise in Theatre History with particular focus on US social activist performance, labor theatre, 20th century Ukrainian-American performance, and witch representations in performance.

Her research portfolio demonstrates remarkable consistency in examining performance as a vehicle for social change. Dr. Dail's work spans historical periods from early 20th century labor movements to contemporary explorations of gender politics through witchcraft narratives. Her publications reveal a scholar deeply engaged with marginalized voices and political activism in theatrical contexts, challenging conventional narratives about Cold War-era theatre.
