Christy Zink is Assistant Professor of Writing and Director of the GW Writing Center. An MFA graduate from George Mason University, her scholarship examines reproductive justice through memoir and medical humanities. She received literary grants from the DC Commission on Arts/Humanities and fellowships from Virginia Center for Creative Arts.
Research Focus: Christy's book-in-progress, Ghost in the Family, challenges cultural narratives about abortion and motherhood through interdisciplinary scholarship. Her pedagogical work develops models for integrating critical and creative writing, with emphasis on multimodal composition and trauma-informed teaching.
Leadership: Former Deputy Director of Writing in the Disciplines at GW and past Director of PEN/Faulkner Foundation's Writers in Schools project. Teaches courses in medical humanities, documentary studies, and writing consultant training.
