Dr. Christy Petry-Adams is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Business & Economics at West Texas A&M University’s Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences. She combines her expertise in agricultural education and applied economics with leadership in the equine industry through coaching and judging roles.
- Education: Associate of Applied Science (North Central Texas College), B.S. & M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics (Texas Tech University), Doctor of Education in Agricultural Education (2021).
Her research focuses on the intersection of agricultural economics, equine management, and experiential education, supported by her extensive involvement in horse judging programs, youth mentorship, and collaborations with organizations like AQHA, Kimes Ranch, and 4-H.
She coaches the West Texas A&M Horse Judging Team, achieving championship wins in her first semester, and leads Texas Elite, a decorated youth horse judging program. Her professional roles include Secretary of the National Horse Judging Team Coaches’ Association and membership in AQHA’s 2023 Lead participant group.
