Tabatha Taylor serves as an Instructor of Equine/Animal Science and Head Coach of the Equestrian Team at West Texas A&M University within the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences. She joined the Department of Agricultural Sciences in fall 2024, leveraging over 20 years of professional equine industry experience.
Her educational credentials include:
- B.S. in Agricultural Media & Communication from West Texas A&M University (2012)
- M.S. in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University (2015)
Ms. Taylor specializes in horsemanship instruction, equestrian team leadership, and youth development through competitive programs. Her professional engagement spans major equine organizations including AQHA, NRHA, USEF, USHJA, and IHSA, with active support for 4-H, IEA, and YEDA youth initiatives. Her teaching philosophy integrates practical horsemanship skills with leadership development rooted in her own undergraduate experience at WTAMU.
As Head Coach of the IHSA Equestrian Team, she directs competitive training programs and recruits student-athletes. Her pre-WTAMU career encompassed a decade of IHSA coaching, equine science instruction, and professional horse show judging across the Texas Panhandle region where she developed her foundational equestrian skills.
