Christy Carr is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Miami University's Department of Art. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from Miami University and an M.Des. in Design Theory, Philosophy, and Practice from the University of Cincinnati's DAAP. Her work bridges design, art, and technology to address societal challenges through human-centered solutions.
Key projects include leading the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital mental health outreach program Adapt for Life (AFL), which expanded to reach over 20,000 children by 2021, and spearheading the USAFA's Advance leadership development app for cadets. She emphasizes sustainable design principles and maintains a cross-disciplinary practice merging design and fine art, exhibited internationally.
Christy's professional roles span designer, educator, strategist, and facilitator. She collaborates with institutions like Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the U.S. Air Force Academy, focusing on mental wellness and leadership development. Ongoing work includes authoring a book series and advancing adaptive mental health initiatives in educational settings.
