Christos Sachpekidis is a Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Heidelberg and Consultant at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ). He holds an M.D. from Aristotle University (2008) and a medical doctorate from Heidelberg (2016). After qualifying in nuclear medicine (2019), he became an Assistant Professor (2022) and Full Professor (APL) in 2024. His research focuses on oncological imaging using PET/CT, molecular imaging innovations, AI applications, and emerging modalities like PET/MRI and LAFOV PET/CT.
Research Interests: Specializes in diagnosis/prognosis of cancers (multiple myeloma, melanoma, prostate cancer), molecular imaging techniques, AI-driven PET analysis, and radioligand development. Active in protocol optimization for total-body PET-CT and translational imaging.
Publications: Over 115 articles, including contributions on single-cell myeloma microenvironment analysis, non-FDG PET radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging in immunotherapy. His work bridges clinical imaging and therapeutic advancements in oncology.
