Christos Bintoudis is a faculty member at Sapienza University of Rome, where he serves as Assistant Professor of Modern Greek Language and Literature within the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies, Faculty of Letters and Philosophy. His academic career spans institutions in Italy, Poland, and Greece, with a research focus spanning Modern Greek literature, comparative studies between Italian and Greek literary traditions, and translation studies.
His research interests encompass Modern Greek literature from the 19th and 20th centuries, with particular emphasis on major figures such as C.P. Cavafy, Dionysios Solomos, Odysseas Elytis, and Giacomo Leopardi. Bintoudis has conducted extensive comparative work examining the reception of Italian literature in Greece and vice versa, with special attention to the relationship between Leopardi and Greek literary figures. His scholarly contributions reflect a deep engagement with philhellenism, the historical development of the Greek language, and the cultural connections between Italy and Greece.

Bintoudis coordinates several academic initiatives including the "Osservatorio Neogreco Mario Vitti" and the "La lingua neogreca ai Licei di Roma" project, which promotes Modern Greek language education in Roman high schools. He is also involved with the Phivos Stavrides Foundation Summer School in Cyprus and has established collaborative programs with the University of Athens.
