Dr. Christopher Wilkins is a Professor of History at William Jewell College, specializing in American History with a focus on U.S. foreign policy, the American Civil War, Reconstruction, and 20th-century international relations. He earned his BA from Duke University, and MA and PhD from Stanford University, with additional study at Oxford. Wilkins emphasizes the importance of historical study for understanding societal challenges and shaping policy. His teaching philosophy centers on student engagement and critical thinking, particularly in his favorite course on U.S. foreign policy. Beyond academia, he enjoys traveling with his family, notably visiting Dubrovnik (Croatia), a filming location for Game of Thrones, and is an avid fan of the series.
