Christopher White is a Professor and Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). He joined UNH in 2006-2007 after serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University (2001-2004) and as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories' Combustion Research Facility. His expertise spans fluid mechanics, turbulence, drag reduction, and hydrogen-fueled engine technologies.
- Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, Yale University
- M.S., Mechanical Engineering, State University of New York
- B.S., Mechanical Engineering, State University of New York
Prof. White teaches courses in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, experimental methods, and turbulence. His research focuses on turbulent flow dynamics, drag reduction mechanisms, and combustion processes, often leveraging experimental and computational approaches.
Publications highlight his work in turbulent boundary layers, flow modeling, and polymer additives' impact on fluid dynamics. He has contributed to journals such as the Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Experiments in Fluids.
At Sandia National Laboratories, he led investigations in the Advanced Hydrogen Fueled Engine Laboratory. His ongoing work at UNH continues to advance fluid mechanics and sustainable energy systems.
