Christopher Villanueva is a Lecturer in Jazz Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) under the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. With over 20 years of experience as a professional jazz musician, he combines performance expertise with academic teaching, offering courses in improvisation, jazz skills, composition, and ensemble work.

- M.M. in Jazz Studies in Performance, University of North Texas
Villanueva is an active performer and educator, specializing in jazz improvisation, arranging, and Latin jazz. He has performed at major venues and festivals across Texas, collaborated with internationally renowned artists, and contributed to over 50 recording projects as pianist, arranger, and producer. His teaching emphasizes both technical proficiency and creative expression in jazz and related genres like Gospel, R&B, and Tejano.
