Christopher Tusa is a Distinguished Instructor in the Department of English at Louisiana State University (LSU), part of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. He serves as Managing Editor of Fiction Southeast and has received a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts. His work includes poetry, novels, and short stories exploring themes of mental illness and contemporary Southern culture.

Research Interests: Tusa’s work focuses on blending Southern Gothic traditions with contemporary themes, examining mental health and the impact of celebrity culture on the Christ-haunted South. His creative writing spans poetry, novels, and short stories, often set in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Publications: His notable works include the poetry collection Haunted Bones (2006) and the novel Dirty Little Angels (2009). Current projects include a novel exploring post-Katrina New Orleans and a collection of stories.
Awards: Tusa has secured a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts to support his creative work.
Advising & Grants: He has advised under the mentorship of Tim Gautreaux, Sidney Wade, and Debora Gregor. His grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts enabled the completion of his chapbook Inventing an End.
