Christopher Thomas is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics. He holds a D.Phil. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Oxford (2004-2008) and has held roles including University Lecturer, Reader, and Fellowships at Christ's College, Cambridge. His research focuses on lattice QCD, hadronic physics, and strong interaction phenomenology, primarily through the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration. Key contributions include studies on coupled-channel scattering, charmonium resonances, and exotic hadron states using lattice QCD methods. He has been a postdoctoral fellow at Jefferson Lab (2008-2011) and Trinity College Dublin (2011-2013). His work bridges theoretical frameworks with computational simulations to elucidate hadron spectroscopy and QCD dynamics.
