Dr. Christopher Schmit is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University and serves as the Director of the Water and Environmental Engineering Research Center. He joined the faculty in 1998 after earning his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University. His research focuses on wastewater treatment, biological nutrient removal, and anaerobic waste treatment.
