Wayne Parker is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is affiliated with professional organizations including the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO), Water Environment Federation (WEF), International Water Association (IWA), and Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE).
Education:

- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (1986), University of Waterloo
His research focuses on wastewater treatment technologies, nutrient recovery, anaerobic membrane bioreactors, biosolids management, and fate mechanisms of hazardous compounds. He has secured funding from NSERC, Envirosim, GE, Canadian Water Network, Ontario Research Fund, Environment Canada, and the Ontario Ministry of Environment.

Teaching: Courses taught in recent years include Biological Wastewater Treatment: Theory and Practice (CIVE 771, 2021/2023), Biological Processes (ENVE 376, 2020/2022-2024), and Engineering for Solid Waste Management (ENVE 577, 2022-2024).
He contributes to professional committees such as the Ontario Ministry of Environment Stakeholders Review Group, WEAO Biosolids Committee, and WEF Program Committee, as well as serving as a session chair at CAWQ conferences.
