Christopher Petit is a Professor of Theater and Paul Garrett Fellow at Whitman College. He is based at Harper Joy Theatre 122 and can be reached at petitc@whitman.edu. His professional career spans prominent institutions including the Seattle Repertory Theater, Seattle Children's Theatre, and the Group Theater. He has directed original works such as Falling Awake, and notable productions like Blood on the Books and King Lear.
Education:
- M.F.A. in Directing from Columbia University
- B.F.A. in Acting from Rutgers University
He has taught at the University of Arkansas, Eastern Illinois University, Ohio University, and the Shanghai Theater Academy. His artistic leadership includes founding the Open Circle Theatre and serving as an artistic associate for One World Theater. His work has been featured in venues across New York City including Here Arts Center and the Abingdon Theater.
