Dr. Christopher Peace is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Business Communication at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in English (Rhetoric and Composition) from the University of Kansas (2022), an MA in English (Literature) from Jackson State University (2016), and a BA in English (Writing) from Mississippi College (2012). Before joining CMU, he served as a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology (2022–2024).
His teaching focuses on professional genres, self-branding, intercultural rhetorics, and effective writing strategies for business audiences. Research interests include ethnographic studies of rhetorical strategies in African American esotericism, Hoodoo, and spirit communication. He is certified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and serves on the Academics committee for the ZORA! Festival of the Arts and Humanities.
Pedagogically, he emphasizes rhetorical audience awareness and communication strategies for diverse business contexts. His professional certifications and postdoctoral training in technical communication further underscore his expertise in bridging academic theory and professional practice.
