Christopher Parker

Dr. Christopher Parker is an Associate Professor at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, holding appointments in the Departments of Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Biomedical and Molecular Sciences. He currently serves as the Interim Co-Chair of the Division of Respirology and is a Harvard Macy Scholar. His clinical roles include staff respirologist and intensivist at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, alongside serving as Medical Director of Special Services, including Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID).

Dr. Parker’s clinical interests focus on trauma and resuscitation, lung cancer, clinical physiology, and end-of-life care. He leads the Regional Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program (LDAP) Outreach Clinic and has contributed extensively to medical education through leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His academic work spans historical and sociological analyses of Latin American class structures, legal cultures, and urban development, with notable publications on class identity, dueling practices, and public health policies in 19th-20th century Latin America.

His recent scholarly output (2022–2023) emphasizes epistemological debates around class definitions and their political implications, while earlier works (2002–2007) explored historical dynamics of hygiene, housing, and social norms in urban contexts. Dr. Parker’s interdisciplinary approach bridges clinical practice, education, and historical scholarship.
