Dr. Christopher Nowotarski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University. He joined the university in 2014 following his PhD, MS, and BS studies in Meteorology at Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on improving the prediction of severe convective storms and their hazards, particularly tornadoes associated with supercells and tropical cyclones. Key tools include idealized cloud-resolving simulations and analysis of field experiment data (e.g., TRACER, DCOTSS, VORTEX-SE).

Past work explored Southeast US tornado environments, permafrost effects on Arctic meteorology, and data assimilation techniques using the ADRAD radar.
