Dr. Christopher M. Dodgion is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), specializing in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. He holds an MD from the University of Utah School of Medicine (2007), an MSPH in Public Health (2006), and an MBA. His surgical training includes a General Surgery Residency at the University of Wisconsin (2007–2014, with a 2-year Health Services Research Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital), followed by a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University (2014–2015).
His research focuses on improving outcomes for trauma and acute care surgery patients, particularly in thoracic trauma, readmission patterns, trauma quality improvement programs, and perioperative morbidity. He collaborates with international networks like the Multi-institutional Genitourinary Trauma Study (MiGUTS) and leads global surgical quality initiatives in Ethiopia. Dr. Dodgion’s work spans clinical practice, health policy, and translational research in trauma care optimization.
He is board-certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, practicing at Froedtert Hospital. His publications (13+ recent articles) emphasize evidence-based trauma protocols, surgical registry development, and guideline implementation in both high- and low-resource settings.
