Christopher Lockett is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Memorial University of Newfoundland. He holds a PhD from the University of Western Ontario, an MA from the University of Toronto, and a BA from York University.
His research focuses on postwar American literature and culture, film/media studies, and fantasy/science fiction. Current projects include The Spectre of Catastrophe: Post-Apocalyptic Visions in the 21st Century and articles on zombie apocalypses, Station Eleven, and HBO’s cultural impact.
Teaching spans undergraduate courses like Introduction to SF and Fantasy and graduate seminars on conspiracy culture and prestige television. His work interrogates themes of mass culture, apocalyptic narratives, and the intersection of magic/humanism in modern media.
