Christopher Lindinger serves as University Professor for Digital Humanities in the Arts at the Institute for Open Arts, Mozarteum University Salzburg, a position he assumed on October 1, 2023. Previously, he was Vice Rector of Johannes Kepler University Linz (2019-2023) and co-founded the Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz, where he served as co-director of the Ars Electronica Media Lab.
His research spans Digital Humanities, Computer Science, and Arts and Technology, focusing on the integration of digital tools in artistic creation and cultural institutions. Lindinger investigates interactive media, collaborative creation processes, and the societal impact of emerging technologies through an innovation research lens, emphasizing cultural management frameworks.
As co-founder of the Ars Electronica Futurelab, he pioneered interdisciplinary projects merging art, science, and engineering. His current work at Mozarteum University establishes the Data Arts Forum as a hub for experimental digital art practices, fostering global collaborations between artists, technologists, and cultural institutions to explore future-oriented artistic methodologies.
