Elisabeth-Maria Wieder

Elisabeth-Maria Wieder is a visual artist, art educator, and Senior Artist at the Mozarteum University's Innsbruck campus, where she has been teaching graphic design since 2020. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Fine Arts and the graphic arts department at Mozarteum University.

Wieder studied fine arts with a focus on painting and graphic design in Linz, as well as art education and history in Salzburg. She is a founding member of EDITION: Association for Contemporary Art and Culture in Linz and the artists' group Bockstuhlplatte. Her research interests focus on artistic processes and their role in society, processes of (un)learning, experimentation, and exchange.

Her artistic output shows consistent engagement with contemporary visual arts, particularly in graphic design, installation art, and conceptual practices. Her exhibitions demonstrate exploration of spatial design, visual language, and social commentary through various media. She has maintained an active exhibition schedule with shows in Austria and internationally from 2009 through 2022.

Wieder has participated in international residencies in Vienna, Trieste, Pula, Budapest, and Red Wing, Minnesota. She served as co-teacher at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg in 2015, 2018, and 2019, demonstrating her commitment to art education and professional development within the academic community.
