Christopher Lawton is a Lecturer at Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, School of History and Sociology. His research focuses on cultural and social history of the American South, with a strong emphasis on digital humanities and public-facing projects. He has secured grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (2017, 2018, 2023), Georgia Humanities (2012), Spencer Foundation (2021), and others. Co-author of the award-winning book Seen/Unseen, he also directs a non-profit linking digital humanities with place-based education.
