Christopher Ladd

Christopher Ladd is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Guitar and Chair of the Guitar and Harp Program at The Hartt School, University of Hartford, where he also directs the Hartt School Guitar Festival. An internationally renowned classical guitarist, he is celebrated as one of the most promising musicians of his generation with performances described as "rendered confidently and expressively" by Fingerstyle Guitar and "an exercise in extremes" by Soundboard Magazine.

His artistic approach bridges traditional technique with modern media applications, demonstrating exceptional versatility across diverse musical landscapes from Baroque transcriptions to metal recordings.

His recording projects reveal a distinct trajectory toward contemporary classical works and media integration, featuring world-premiere recordings of new concertos alongside contributions to film soundtracks and metal albums. This body of work underscores his commitment to expanding the guitar's cultural relevance through strategic genre-blending and technological engagement.
