Christopher Krebs is a Professor of Classics at Stanford University with courtesy appointments in Comparative Literature and German Studies. Holding a doctorate from Kiel and a Master of Studies from Oxford, he has taught at University College Oxford and Harvard before joining Stanford in 2012. His scholarship focuses on Greek and Roman historiography, Latin philology, and classical reception studies, producing five books and over 75 publications. Krebs combines textual analysis with historical context in works like his forthcoming commentary on Caesar’s Bellum Gallicum 7 and his intellectual biography of Caesar, while maintaining active roles in academic committees and summer programs like Caesar in Gaul.
