Christopher Jacobs is a practicing GP and Honorary Research Fellow (Non-Clinical) in the Department of Psychology, focusing on emerging technologies for medical education. He leads undergraduate medical education research at Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust and serves as Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London. His expertise spans immersive technologies, AI, human-computer interaction (HCI), and training efficacy in clinical education.
His research interests center on Medical Education Technology, Virtual Reality (VR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare training. Key projects include AI for medical communication skills, VR-based sepsis simulation, and technology-enhanced learning for allied health professionals. Recent publications analyze AI narrative learning fidelity, digital engagement in obesity management, and youth mental health innovations.
Scientific awards include the William Harvey Award (2009), Distinction in Clinical Medicine Final MB (2011), GP Teaching Practice of the Year (2023), and an NHS Parliamentary Award nomination (2024). He holds a Doctor of Medicine (2024), Master of Research in Public Health (2021), and degrees in Medicine (2011) and Visual Science (2002).
