Christopher J. Renz, OP, is the Academic Dean and Professor of Liturgical Studies and Science & Theology at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (DSPT). As Consortial Faculty at the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) since 2000, he bridges theological scholarship with scientific inquiry. His leadership role encompasses academic oversight and curriculum development within a Dominican educational framework.

His unique background in microbiology informs theological perspectives on creation and human flourishing.
Publications: Renz's scholarship consistently explores liturgical expression through artistic, educational, and cultural lenses. His 2019 work examines hymnody in worship contexts, while his 2017 edited volume analyzes devotional responses to suffering. Forthcoming research documents historical experiments integrating fine arts with liturgical education. Common themes include sacramental aesthetics, therapeutic spirituality, and pedagogical innovation in theological training.
