Christopher J. Easley is the C. Dent Williams Professor of Bioanalytical Chemistry at Auburn University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He leads the Easley Lab, focusing on developing novel microanalytical techniques for studying endocrine tissue function and biosensing. His roles include ADR Fellow, Graduate Program Officer, and Associate Editor for Analytical Methods. Easley earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (2006) and B.S. from Mississippi State University (2002), with postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
- Affiliations: College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM), Royal Society of Chemistry (Associate Editor)
Research interests include droplet microfluidics for tissue secretion analysis, cooperative DNA-based biosensors, and electrochemical detection platforms. His lab's work spans analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and device engineering.
Key publications (2020–2024) focus on adipose tissue dynamics, electrochemical proximity assays, and µChopper device innovations. Awards include the Dean's Faculty Research Award (2020) and AES Mid-Career Achievement (2019).
Current students include Andresa Bezerra (Ph.D. candidate) and Sabita Dangol. Former students have transitioned to roles at institutions like South China Normal University and QPS Holdings. The lab's funding sources include NIH (R01 grants), NSF, and Auburn University's Intramural Grants Program.
Lab infrastructure includes specialized microfluidic devices, electrochemical setups, and collaborations with Vanderbilt and UCSF researchers.
