Christopher Hoot is a Professor in the Graphic Design program at the University of Akron's Mary Schiller Myers School of Art. He teaches graphic design and 2-D Design Foundations while operating his professional design practice, HootDesign.
His research explores visual rhetoric and connections between verbal and visual communication devices. Hoot has designed exhibitions including 'A Century of Innovative Book Design' and 'Type + Foto + Grafik = Swiss Posters', authoring comprehensive catalogs for these projects.
