Christopher Griffiths

Christopher Griffiths is a Professor of Dermatology at the University of Manchester, where he has led the Greater Manchester Dermatology Centre since 1994. His career spans clinical leadership roles including Dean for Research at the Faculty of Medical & Human Sciences and Director of the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre.

• Psoriasis immunopathology and biologic therapies
• Development of the "brain-skin axis" concept
• Photodamage and collagen repair
• Stratified medicine for skin diseases

• Pharmacovigilance systems for psoriasis

Scientific Contributions include pivotal clinical trials for biologic psoriasis treatments, establishment of the British Association of Dermatologists’ Biologic Interventions Register, and the MRC Stratified Medicine Consortium on Psoriasis. His work on efalizumab and TNF inhibitors revolutionized psoriasis care, while his research on collagen-1 and fibrillin linked extracellular matrix changes to photoaging.
