Christopher Cramer is an Instructor of Music at Beloit College, specializing in guitar performance and education. He also teaches at St. Norbert College and the Madison Academy of Music. His roles include directing the guitar ensemble program and teaching studio guitar lessons. Dr. Cramer holds a B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in music performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a doctoral minor in conducting.
His performance career spans solo and chamber music engagements across the U.S., Canada, and Asia, featuring works by Vivaldi, Rodrigo, and contemporary composers. Notable performances include concerto debuts with the Madison East Orchestra and Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, as well as collaborations with soprano Yi-Lan Niu and ensembles like the Beloit College Masterworks Chorus.
Dr. Cramer advocates for contemporary music, having premiered works by composers such as Chiwei Hui and Alexander Nohai-Seaman. His educational outreach includes community programs and school visits. Awards include the UW-Manitowoc Fine Arts Award and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music scholarship.
