Christopher Casillas is an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law and an Affiliate Instructor of Law at the University of Washington. He holds a B.A. (2000, University of California, Santa Barbara), J.D. (2003, Seattle University), M.A. (2009, Cornell University), and Ph.D. (2012, Cornell University) in Government. His expertise spans public-sector labor relations, constitutional law, and judicial behavior.
He currently works at the Washington Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC), mediating labor disputes and leading initiatives like The Negotiation Project, which bridges academic negotiation theory with public-sector practice. His research includes seminal work on public opinion's influence on the U.S. Supreme Court, published in the American Journal of Political Science.
In teaching, he focuses on Labor Law, Negotiations, Separation of Powers, and Constitutional Law. He received the 2022 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award from Seattle University School of Law.
